About
Hello friends!
I am so glad you are following me on this journey to create a meaningful life for myself and my family.
I am an Alaskan girl who craves mountains and frost. I love the autumn and winter season but I also enjoy a good harvest. Lately I’ve been focusing on finding my identity beyond military life and my family. It hasn’t been easy but God willing, I’ll be an example to my kids and an inspiration to other military and non-military folks.
My wonderful husband and I came from Arizona and Alaska respectively and found ourselves in a small town in Michigan where our parents grew up. We fell in love in high school and somehow I ended up a military wife and then a mother of our first son only two years later.
Since then I’ve always tried to plant little gardens, keep house plants alive, and focus on caring for my family.
In recent years I earned an associate’s degree in Agriculture Business and now find myself back in school for natural resources. My hope is to return to Alaska and help fight the wildfires that attempt to ruin Alaska’s short summer season.
You can find me lately with a coffee in my hand, flour on my clothes and at least a notebook nearby. I enjoy finding ways to use pumpkins and apples in my cooking, making new soups and stews like I’ve just harvested from a cottage garden, and anything that involves the forest.
I also homeschool my two kids, 10 and 2, and we love to think outside the box for education and learning.
I’m so glad you’re here in this stage of life. I am looking forward to sharing my favorite recipes and experiences with you. May you always have a warm drink and hot meal to share with others.
